Karmen Etxalarkoa & Willian Douglas
The relationship between the village of Etxalar and William Douglas goes back a long way. The first contact was in 1963 when the American visited our village to do his doctoral thesis on Basque culture. For those who don't know him, he is a very well-known anthropologist and has done a lot for Basque culture, among other things he created the Basque Studies Centre at the University of Nevada.
Recently, William Douglas has published an interesting article on Etxalar and the pastoral Karmen Etxalarkoa in the magazine of the anthropology department of the University of Nevada.
